Whether it is writing paper or packaging paper, most of the finished products require back-end printing. Therefore, the base paper needs to be sizing and coating.

The basic requirements for sizing and coating are: to provide paper surface that meets printing requirements and to improve the smoothness of the paper surface.

Some special paper types may even require water resistance, oil resistance, etc. Therefore, different starches and other additives are used.


  1. Low viscosity: Since gluing and coating need to give the paper surface a certain degree of functionality and cooperate with the operability of the paper machine, the high viscosity of native starch cannot meet this requirement.
  2. High concentration: High solid content can provide effective oil resistance, water resistance and printability.
  3. Easy to cook: Due to the high concentration, the cooking process requires more heat, so the original starch needs to be modified to reduce the energy consumption during cooking while providing products of satisfactory quality.
  4. Oil-resistant properties: ZMAOS-SOR series has a special modification method to provide coating starch with oil-resistant function.
